2024 C1X Update

SUPER73 CEO LeGrand Crewse talks about the state of the C1X and the road ahead.

Hey Super Squad and C1X reservation holders,

It’s a new year and I want to give you all an update on the progress we’re making on our motorcycle platform and how that product has evolved in the past 18+ months since we first showed off the original concept. My goal is to cover the most important questions everyone asks…when will it be available and how much will it cost?

Although our team has been working tirelessly on this platform, the C1X will not be shipping in 2024, however, we do hope to be able to give a much more detailed timeline of when you can expect to get one before the year is done. I know that there have been a lot of questions as to why this project has taken so long and why our timelines have been pushed back. The primary reason we are taking more time on the development is to make sure that we include the game-changing features that you, our reservation holders and community, have asked for.

One of the specific features that we showed off in 2023 was our Ultra Fast Charging technology that allows the C1X to charge to 80% in less than 15 minutes. If you were at our launch event, you probably saw firsthand the public demonstration we conducted. We are far surpassing that charge time with our engineering test mules and hope to continue improving the charging speed for our production versions. Additionally, our C1X engineering mules have been successfully running in both the US and Europe as we’ve tested this fast charge technology for almost a year now. We feel confident moving forward with this technology and are transitioning to the next stages of our testing and validation process. We’re currently estimating that our batteries will be in a state of production with proper certifications by early 2025.

We are using this added time to thoughtfully build out our sales, distribution, and service strategies with established partners in the motorcycle and powersports industry. It’s critical for us to not only develop the most compelling electric motorcycle on the market but also to be able to provide you with an ownership experience that is second to none.

This leads me to the next topic, the product itself. Throughout this update, I’ve used the word platform, a deliberate choice, as this is exactly what we are building. To help demonstrate platforming, we revealed two variants of the base C1X that were affectionately named El Jefe and Super Le Pew, at EICMA in Milan a couple of months ago. These advanced concepts showcase the modular nature of the C1X platform and the radically different types of bikes that can be produced without any changes to the core chassis or drivetrain. With wheel/tire, suspension, handlebars, lighting, and graphics, we can dramatically alter the look and feel of the C1X. Customization has always been at the heart of our brand and we are building the C1X platform to allow you, the rider, to truly make the machine your own.

And finally, to answer the burning question that I’ve personally been asked incessantly since we unveiled C1X…how much will it cost? There will be more than one variant of C1X available, so there will be multiple price points, but we are targeting a starting price of under $10k USD. We will continue to update you on the progress of C1X on a quarterly basis. In the meantime, we encourage you to join us at our community events to engage with all of the amazing people working hard to bring C1X to market.

On behalf of all of the employees at SUPER73, I want to thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for our brand and our products. It means the world to us to count you as community members, riders, neighbors, and friends.

Sincerely,
LeGrand Crewse, CEO & Co-Founder
